If you ran this test again under the same conditions, a result this different would be expected about more than 5 times in 100 tests. Treat this as evidence alongside conversion quality, spend, and business context.

How much longer to run?

At 120 daily visitors / clicks per variant, you may need about 22 more days to reach 95% significance at the current observed uplift.

How A/B test significance works

The calculator uses the observed difference, sample sizes, and pooled variability to separate signal from random noise.

1. Start with one clean question

Change one meaningful element at a time and keep the audience, bid strategy, and measurement window comparable. A calculator cannot repair a test with overlapping audiences or changing goals.

2. Use enough traffic to see a stable pattern

A rate is only an estimate. More clicks and conversions tighten that estimate, which makes it easier to tell a real improvement from a lucky run of traffic.

3. Read confidence with business context

A statistically likely winner is not automatically the best business decision. Check lead quality, revenue, spend, conversion lag, and whether the result holds across the traffic you actually care about.

A/B testing FAQs

What is statistical significance?

Statistical significance estimates whether the difference between two conversion or click-through rates is larger than the random variation you would expect if the variants performed the same. This calculator uses a pooled, two-proportion z-test and a two-tailed p-value.

What does 95% confidence mean?

At 95% confidence, the result clears a commonly used threshold where the p-value is below 0.05. In plain English, if the variants truly performed equally, results this far apart would be uncommon. It is evidence, not a guarantee that the winner will continue forever.

How long should I run a Google Ads test?

Run until you have enough observations and a meaningful business decision, rather than stopping after a calendar number. Avoid calling a winner during a short spike, and account for weekly patterns, conversion lag, and enough traffic in both variants.

Why does more data matter?

More observations reduce the noise around each rate. A small difference can become convincing with enough traffic, while a dramatic-looking difference based on a handful of clicks can disappear as the sample grows.
